Peer Review Policy
JAFSNHS operates a double-blind peer review process: reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.
Process
- Initial screening — the editor checks scope, formatting, and originality (including similarity screening).
- External review — manuscripts that pass screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.
- Decision — the editor decides to accept, request minor or major revisions, or reject, based on the reviewers' reports.
- Revision — authors respond point-by-point to reviewer comments; revised manuscripts may be returned to the reviewers.
- Final decision — the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision.
Editors and board members who submit their own work to JAFSNHS are excluded from all handling of that manuscript.
